Our assigned territory again this year was Wakodahatchee and environs. Wako is great because the birds are habituated to all the traffic, so it’s possible to get some very close photos of birds that normally don’t allow a close approach. The goal of the Christmas Bird Count is to count, so the photography serves more of a documentary than an aesthetic function. But you can still get some decent shots.
