Pop came to town last weekend, and that, when things work out right, means a lot gets accomplished in a little time. For one thing, we get some much-needed help watching the kids, freeing us up for housework. The house rarely looks so organized as when we’ve got help! But the real value of the visit is in the projects we get done.
Even though Pop was a bit under the weather at the beginning of the trip, we still knocked out some major jobs:
A new three-bin compost system:
I’ve already put lots of table scraps and bougainvillea trimmings in it (you should see the scratch marks on my arms), and we’ll see if we can’t get some compost, or at least some mulch, out of it!
We put Eric’s train table on a pulley system to hoist it up to the ceiling when not in use; pretty handy in a room barely 8 feet × 10 feet:
And we fixed the door to Daniel’s room so it actually closes all the way:
Hooray for the visits! Y’all come back soon now, ya heah?
Seriously, though, it was great to see my half of the California crew out here; Marcella’s half is in town this weekend. More to come!
