Well, I finally got a chance to figure out how the threaded adapter works to mate my new digicam to my trusty Televue-60 spotting scope. Here’s how it works:
First, as I did in part one, unscrew the thread cover from the camera. Then attach the camera adapter to the camera.
Now, in part two, the new stuff:
- Attach the telescope eyepiece adapter to the camera adapter. This involved removing the rubber eyecup from the eyepiece first:
- Then thread the two adapters to each other as so:
- Attach the whole shootin’ match to the eyepiece:
- Insert eyepiece end into telescope, and let ‘er rip!
Now all I need to do is learn how to choose my subject, compose the picture, and fine-tune the photos. Below are a few unaltered shots I took the other afternoon and evening, “first light” with my new digiscope setup. More later!
