It’s Friday, and I just got around to downloading some pictures from a couple of weeks ago out of my point-and-shoot camera. There’s a moth I don’t know, and a very strange kind of fly with very long antennae. Normally when I get photos of unknown critters, I post them to bugguide.net, let the folks there do their thing, then research the answers I get until I can write a smart-sounding* post about them.
This time, though, I’m stymied. The outage is intermittent. I started writing this post, checked again, and managed to post two shots of a small moth I found in our new house:
But then when I try to post about an unknown wasp, I get the following:
Frustrating, no? Oh, well. Nothing to do but wait and hope the site comes back up soon. And, as Murphy would have it, the site is already back up and I’ve managed to post my ID requests already.

* Yes, smart-sounding. Despite having a bona fide Pee Aitch Dee from a genyooine institution of higher learning, I make no claims to actually being smart. Sounding smart will have to do…
