My last post was going to be about cloudy skies, but it morphed into a tale of my computer woes. But the theme is the same: I’ve been going at breakneck pace and expecting the rest of the world to accommodate my needs. Don’t have a book? Quick surf to the library website, and if they don’t have it, well, can I afford to buy it from that online store named after the giant South American river? (Not orinoco.com, by the way, although that domain name appears to be taken by a travel company offering vacations throughout South America.)
Every now and then, though, the world imposes its will on you. Sometimes it’s the virtual world (oh, woe is my MacBook Pro!), and other times it’s the real world.
I got lucky last Saturday night, managing to catch on one crummy digiscoped image the first day of this lunation. I’ve been lucky enough to follow up that “observation” with pictures from Sunday night, Monday night, Tuesday night, and Wednesday night. This string of successes early in the lunation gave me the loony idea that I might be able to capture the entire 29.5-day cycle this month.
But reality is setting in, as I look at the deep dark cloud cover that’s been blanketing Fort Lauderdale all day. A glance at the Clear Sky Clock for Boca Raton, though, gives me some hope for clearing tonight:
I’ll just have to be patient, and see what I can see tonight.
UPDATE: Turns out, there was plenty of moon to go around:
