There are hundreds of Horned Larks on the Carrizo Plain National Monument. Here’s one I saw recently while at the Soda Lake overlook view point.
It was a very foggy morning, temperatures in the 20s, and as the sun came up, I saw a phenomenon I vaguely remember reading about but had never seen before: a fogbow. Here’s a (very) little gallery of images from the trip:
